Key Highlights

The Druk Path Trek in Bhutan is an exceptional short trek that follows the ancient high-level route between Paro and Thimphu, passing several remote lakes. The trek begins with a hike to the historic Jele Dzong, perched on a ridge above the Paro Valley, offering breathtaking views of Chomolhari. Over the next five days, we ascend above the tree line and cross multiple passes, including Phume La (4,210m).

Along the way, we camp by pristine mountain lakes, visit yak herders' encampments, and enjoy stunning panoramas of peaks along the Tibetan border, such as Jitchu Drake and Gangkar Puensum. The itinerary also includes a hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery in the Paro Valley. This trek offers a unique insight into Bhutan's rich culture while presenting a moderately strenuous challenge at high altitudes.

Expected Weather

Daytime temperatures range from 10°C to 20°C during the trekking season, while nighttime temperatures can drop to -5°C to 5°C at higher elevations. Mostly clear weather and sunny days can be expected with possible snow / mild rain at higher altitudes.
